Legal

These documents set out the rules for using matrimonial.date, how we handle your information, and who owns what. Please read them before you create a profile.

Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Summary. You must be 18 or older. Give accurate information. Treat other members with respect. Never send money to someone you have met here. We provide the platform and AI tools, but we cannot guarantee any match, relationship or outcome.

1. Who we are

matrimonial.date (the "Site") is operated by Aussi-Nexus Group, based in Queensland, Australia ("we", "us", "our"). You can contact us at [email protected].

2. Who may use the Site

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must be legally free to marry, or otherwise legally able to enter into the relationship you are seeking.
  • You may hold only one profile.
  • You must provide accurate and up-to-date information about yourself.

3. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us straight away at [email protected] if you think your account has been accessed without permission.

4. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • create a fake, misleading or stolen profile, or pretend to be someone else;
  • use another person's photo, name or identity;
  • harass, threaten, abuse, or sexually proposition other members;
  • ask for money, gift cards, bank details or financial help, or invite anyone to a financial scheme;
  • share another member's personal details without their consent, or try to get around our chat screening to share contact details early;
  • use the Site for advertising, recruitment or selling products or services;
  • use automated tools, scrapers or bots to collect member information;
  • upload anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's rights;
  • try to access other accounts, or interfere with the security or operation of the Site.

5. Matching and AI agents

Our AI agents suggest candidates and explain matches based on the information you and others provide. These suggestions are generated by software. They can be incomplete or wrong. A match score is an indication of shared basics only. It is not a prediction of compatibility, and it is not a guarantee that anyone will accept your interest or that any relationship will work out.

6. Interest, chat and moderation

Chat between two members opens only after both have accepted interest. Messages are screened automatically for contact details and common scam wording, and may be reviewed where a member makes a report. We may remove messages or accounts that break these Terms.

7. Verification

Verification features (such as email confirmation and identity checks) confirm only the specific information that was checked, at the time it was checked. A "verified" badge is not a guarantee of a person's character, background, marital status or intentions. Identity documents are handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Your safety

Meeting people you find online carries risk. We strongly recommend that you:

  • keep early conversations on the Site;
  • tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going;
  • meet in a public place, and arrange your own transport;
  • never send money or gifts to someone you have not met in person, and report any such request to us and to the police.

If you are in immediate danger, call 000.

9. Reports, blocking and suspension

You can report, decline or block any member at any time. We review reports and may warn, suspend or permanently remove any account that breaches these Terms, without notice where we consider it necessary for safety. You can pause or delete your own account at any time.

10. Fees

Any fee for a feature will be shown to you before you pay it. We will not charge you without your agreement. Where you buy a service, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply.

11. Content you provide

You keep ownership of the content you upload, such as your profile text and any photos or ID you submit. You give us a non-exclusive licence to store, process and display that content on the Site, and to use it to provide matching, support and safety features. You confirm that you have the right to give us that content.

12. Our content and intellectual property

The Site's design, code, text, branding and the matrimonial.date name are owned by Aussi-Nexus Group or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse them except for personal, non-commercial use. See our Copyright notice.

13. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the Site, for the conduct of other members, or for any outcome of a match, introduction or meeting. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any guarantee or right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Site and delete your account at any time. We may end your access if you breach these Terms.

15. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will show the new date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any dispute will be heard in the courts of Queensland.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Summary. We collect only what we need to match you and keep you safe. We never show your email address or contact details to other members. We do not sell your information. You can download or delete your data at any time.

This policy explains how Aussi-Nexus Group handles personal information on matrimonial.date, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. What we collect

  • Account details: email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash, never in plain text).
  • Profile details: name, age, gender, location, faith, education, occupation, diet, smoking, interests, values and a short description you write.
  • Activity: who you express interest in, who you save, blocks, reports, and messages you send in chat.
  • Verification: whether your email address has been confirmed, and, if you choose an ID check, the ID photo and the outcome.
  • Technical information: basic security logs, such as the time and IP address of a login attempt, used to prevent abuse.
  • Support chat: messages you type to the AI support assistant.

2. Why we use it

  • to create and run your account;
  • to suggest candidates, calculate match scores and explain matches;
  • to screen messages and reports for safety, and to investigate breaches of our Terms;
  • to answer support questions;
  • to meet legal obligations.

3. AI and third-party services

Our AI agents process your profile information to suggest matches and explain them. Messages you send to the AI support assistant are processed by an AI service provider outside Australia. Please do not include passwords, ID numbers or bank details in any support message. We do not send identity documents to any AI service.

4. Identity documents

If you choose to submit an ID photo for a verification check:

  • the photo is encrypted before it is stored on our server;
  • only authorised trust and safety reviewers can open it;
  • the photo is deleted as soon as a decision is made;
  • if no reviewer has looked at it within 7 days, it is deleted automatically;
  • your name is shown as verified only if the check is approved.

You do not have to submit an ID photo to use the Site.

5. Who we share information with

  • Other members see only the profile details you choose to provide, plus your match and interest status. They never see your email address or contact details.
  • Family members you link can see your saved shortlist only if you allow it, and you can remove their access at any time.
  • Service providers that host the Site, send email, or provide AI services, under contracts that require them to protect your information.
  • Authorities where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your account information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, messages, interests and saved lists. We keep limited records where the law requires it, such as records of suspensions or legal requests.

7. Security

We use encryption (HTTPS) for data sent to and from the Site, store passwords only as secure hashes, encrypt identity documents, and limit access to staff who need it. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

9. Your rights

  • Access: download a copy of your data from your account settings.
  • Correction: update your profile at any time, or ask us to correct something.
  • Deletion: delete your account from your account settings.
  • Complaints: contact us first at [email protected]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

10. Age

The Site is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you believe a minor has joined, please tell us straight away.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will show the new date at the top of this page.
